The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has fired two tax examiners as the revenue agency cracks down on erring and corrupt personnel. In a statement on Wednesday, the BIR said it had already dismissed revenue officer Abolais C. Ampa and group supervisor Nora C. Halamani from its Tondo-San Nicolas, Manila, revenue district office. The Office of the Ombudsman ordered the dismissal of the pair, who were arrested during an entrapment operation by the National Bureau of Investigation.
