SAN PEDRO CITY - An illegal drug suspect was killed in a buy-bust operation in San Pablo City in Laguna province early on Thursday. A report from the Calabarzon police said Gary Castillo opened fire when he began suspecting he was dealing with undercover policemen in the buy-bust conducted by police around 1:30 a.m. in Barangay (village) San Ignacio. The police returned fire and hit the suspect, who died on the way to the Panlalawigang Pagamutan ng Laguna. Recovered were a .38 caliber gun and nine sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth).
